To worry or not to worry… – Me, Myself and Kids

To worry or not to worry…

Uncategorized

I always told my mother she worried way too much.  Now as a mother myself I see why.  Its like a switch that can’t be shut off when you have kids.  As per my last post, our family celebrated my nephews 13th birthday and his Bar Mitzvah.  I spent the 3 days preceeding the party worrying about my LO’s and hoping they wouldn’t get sick.  DS3.5 is in preschool with kids always catching something, and of course if he does, baby T will catch it from him.  My worry started with, well you’ll never guess…poop.  Thats right, baby T all of a sudden was pooping a different colour.  All I can say was I got so paranoid with worry!  It took calling my doc, my brother in law (who’s a doc), a group on facebook and some friends to calm me down about the colour of his poop and that it was normal.  I swear if it wasn’t my kids getting sick, it was me making myself sick!!  Luckily, the poop went back to normal with no other affects or symptoms and the party day arrived and kids were all healthy.  Phew!  Granted it was a week later that DS3.5 came home from school early with fever and spent 48 hours sick with a fever and cold.  Better late than never right? 🙁

For all you moms out there who ever worry or are curious about the colour of your babies poop, this website helped me out alot…warning, graphic pictures attached so open at your own risk!!! http://www.similac.ca/en/articles-advice/babys-bowel-movements-whats-normal

For the last 7+ years I have immersed myself in the "mom life". My blog, appropriately named Me, Myself and Kids is my life; the challenges, the laughter, and the tears. But I also offer my own version of motherly advice. In doing so, I’ve designating myself as an MD or “Mom Doc”. Not because I know it all. Don’t get me wrong. It’s an open perspective; my learnings shared so you can take the good, bad and ugly and adapt it to your own family life. So please join me as I share all of the crazy and overwhelming thoughts and experiences of the mom life with Me, Myself and Kids.
