It is already almost the end of September and school is in full swing. Hard to believe sometimes that we are already in our third week.

We had some changes here in the household; T started JK and with that came a new school. Now I love having only one drop off, but the whole days routine changed! When he was at preschool, he was given breakfast and lunch everyday. Now, mornings are waking and getting myself and the kids ready, making two breakfasts, two lunches, and out the door in time to make it before the bell.

While I’m getting used to the new morning rituals, my little one is still adjusting. He’s more tired than usual when the school day is done. Not that he really napped anymore, but at preschool he had a rest period. Now that he’s in JK, he doesn’t have that anymore. So by 5:30 or 6 he’s usually getting cranky and we now have an ‘early to bed’ rule during the school week.

Because of that, and the less amount of time we spend together, we want to make sure that our weekends are still fun and full of family time.

This month Netflix has outdone itself! There is a crazy good line up for all ages!

If your child is anything like my youngest who has kids that can’t (or won’t) sit through an entire movie, try out this Netflix family movie night bingo game. It’s easy to use – just print a card for each family member and try to spot the things or actions which commonly happen in movies (i.e. shopping, crying, magic, etc). Mark off your squares and the first one to get “BINGO” wins! You can also create your own show specific bingo card using the blank template provided in the link above.

What movies will you be watching this weekend with your family? I think we’ll start with Zootopia!!

Enjoy family time!

For the last 7+ years I have immersed myself in the "mom life". My blog, appropriately named Me, Myself and Kids is my life; the challenges, the laughter, and the tears. But I also offer my own version of motherly advice. In doing so, I’ve designating myself as an MD or “Mom Doc”. Not because I know it all. Don’t get me wrong. It’s an open perspective; my learnings shared so you can take the good, bad and ugly and adapt it to your own family life. So please join me as I share all of the crazy and overwhelming thoughts and experiences of the mom life with Me, Myself and Kids.
