DIY Kids Game – Fivezis

A Day in the Life Family Kids Things We Love

I’m not one of those Pinterest perfect people. I’m not very crafty and I don’t DIY.

But even though I don’t try on my own, when It comes to doing things with the kids, I’m all for it. In fact I don’t think I’ve done anything DIY since Z had to make his DIY menorah for Hebrew School!

The other week T came home with a great game that he and his friends made at school. That’s right, a DIY game made by kindergarten students. Let me just tell you that my first reaction was “wow, I’m impressed!”

He showed me the game, taught it to his brother and I, and we began to play.

We had the best time playing and I really think this game is super for  kids of any age. So for that reason, I want to share it with all of you because it is a great activity to do with the kids.

DIY

What you will need:

20 popsicle sticks

10 blank wooden cubes to make dice

(this will make a 2 player game; add 10 popsicle sticks and 5 more cubes for each additional player)

1 Glue Stick

1 black marker

Putting it together:

Glue the popsicle sticks together so it makes a frame with 5 columns

DIY

Take your dice and label each side

And that’s it! Easy Peasy…now that’s a DIY I can wrap my head around!

Now here is the object:

Be the first player to get all 5 of your dice to show the same number.

HOW TO PLAY:

Each player counts out 5 dice. Players also take a 5 frame. Someone says “Go” and everyone rolls at the same time. EAch player quickly looks at the numbers they rolled and decides which number they are going to collect. (For example, if you have more 3’s than any other number, that what you will want to collect). Put each die with that number inside a section your 5 frame, collect the remaining dice and quickly roll again. (You do not have to wait for others to roll again. Everyone rolls together only on the first roll.) Keep rolling until all 5 of your dice show the same number.

DIY

WINNING:

The first player to get all 5 of their dice to match shouts out “FIVEZI” and wins the game!

DIY

Easy and fun! A great combination for kids!!

Have fun creating it and let me know what you think! And if you have any other DIY kids games, please share in the comments!

For the last 7+ years I have immersed myself in the "mom life". My blog, appropriately named Me, Myself and Kids is my life; the challenges, the laughter, and the tears. But I also offer my own version of motherly advice. In doing so, I’ve designating myself as an MD or “Mom Doc”. Not because I know it all. Don’t get me wrong. It’s an open perspective; my learnings shared so you can take the good, bad and ugly and adapt it to your own family life. So please join me as I share all of the crazy and overwhelming thoughts and experiences of the mom life with Me, Myself and Kids.
