With two young kids and a full time job its often hard to get creative in the kitchen. It’s either the kids want something different to eat or I just don’t have the time to make something great.
Until now…
I’m so excited to share with you the launch of the new cookbook Lick Your Plate. This book was created by the talented Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat who also brought us the books Bite Me and Bite Me Too. I was fortunate to get an advanced copy of the book and try it out.
This book has so many great recipes for just about anyone. There are 160 original, easy to make delicious recipes that even the pickiest of eaters will agree to.
It is full of ideas ranging from Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Veggies, Pasta’s, Fish, Meats, Brunch ideas and of course Desserts.
I had to put the book to the test…I have one kid that will eat just about anything, and one kid who is as picky as picky can be.
So I chose two kid friendly recipes, a meal and a dessert. How could I go wrong with Mac & Cheese and Chunky Cookies & Cream Blondies? I CAN’T!!
So off I went to prepare lunch!
My kids love a good macaroni and cheese. In fact its a staple around here but I have never tried a homemade version. So after seeing this recipe, it looked too good not to try and I knew my kids would love it. They aren’t bacon eaters so I made it without the crumble…still delicious.
The recipe was so easy to follow and prep time was under 10 minutes.
I couldn’t wait to see how this cheesy goodness would turn out. And it was better than I expected and kid approved!! They finished every last bite, making the title of this book so appropriate!!
Next up was dessert. Now this one was hard to choose because they all looked so good! But one that caught my eye was one I knew the kids would love seeing their obsession with Oreo cookies. (Okay, okay, it’s one of my fav’s too).
I decided on the Chunky Cookies & Cream Blondies.
Prep time only 15 minutes! Off I go…
There was no picture of this dessert in the book so I wasn’t exactly sure what it was supposed to look like. I didn’t get the topping of the chunks of the Oreo cookie looking quite like I think it should, but it turned out golden and delicious!
Another recipe kid (and mom) approved!
There are so many more to try and they all look and sound so incredible. It will be hard to choose what to make first!
Hungry yet? Hurry up and order your copy now. The book has officially been released at Indigo and Amazon.
Check it out and don’t forget to follow @bitememore on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest!
What will you be trying first?
