The last time my son did splatter painting he had such a great time.  He was at a birthday party and I remember him coming home with splashes of paint all over his pants and shoes! But he loved it and has asked a few times since then when he can do it again.

That’s why when I heard about the new visual and digital arts studio Paint & Pixels, I knew we had to check it out.

Paint & Pixels opened last November in Etobicoke. They have a great studio lined with artwork of kids and adults alike.

What’s different about them though is they combine visual art activities with digital art apps on their 20 iPads and incorporate green screen technology into parties and art projects. They also have a splatter room in the lower level and guests can go wild throwing, flicking, swooshing paint across their canvases.

My kids were super excited to splatter paint.  With the help of Brandon, we got my kids set up with paint, smocks and showed them what to do.  They were ready to go, and my husband and I got geared up to watch. And the fact that there were Star Wars themed canvases was the icing on the cake!

Now since I would never let this happen in my house, we let the kids go wild!  They picked their colours, they mixed, they splashed away!  Even my husband got in on it and I’ll be honest when I say I don’t know who had a better time, him or the kids!

And the end result was amazing!  One Yoda and one Darth Vader later:

When they were done, we went back upstairs where the kids could play on the iPads and play in front of the green screen.  This place has it all to keep the kids entertained!

It’s no wonder why they are booked for kids birthday parties every weekend!  So much to do and so much fun!

But they also cater to adults; adult paint night workshops, corporate events, even a date night!!  They really have thought of it all!

Now while we don’t live in Etobicoke, it definitely was worth the drive for us and we know it will be for you too.
