Chocolate Protein Energy Balls
A Day in the Life Food Health & Fitness Recipes Things We LoveWe all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But between getting up and getting myself and two kids ready for school, there isn’t always enough time to make myself a good one.
Four out of five weekday mornings, I go workout after I drop the kids off at school. So if I do eat breakfast, I need something good on the go. And especially pre-workout, I need something light that also gives me essential nutrients I need to help do my workout! Not to mention be healthy at the same time!
I’ve seen so many variations of energy balls lately. I’ve tried pre-made, and I’ve tried a slew of different recipes. The first ones I ever made actually had dates and cashews. They were amazing, but my son ended up being allergic to them, so I don’t make that kind anymore.
There are a ton of different ways to make them and I wanted to share one of my favs. I actually tried using Almond Butter for this recipe instead of peanut butter (and PB2 for less fat). They turned out great and you can tweak the recipe as you want to just like I have.
They are so easy to make and take no time at all.
So…grab your ingredients::
Mix them all together:
And roll into balls! Recipe should make 14 balls.
That is it! Here’s a recipe for you to try!
For those that count macros, the macro nutrient values are: C12/P4/ F4 (based on serving)
Perfect for a pre-workout breakfast, a post workout snack, or an afternoon snack just because 😉
Trust me, you’ll pop them in your mouth without thinking and be done the entire batch before you know it! So maybe even double it up LOL
Let me know if you make them, and what ingredients you chose to use. And of course share here how they turn out!
And don’t forget to check out other recipes I have made for myself or the family here!
